Frequently Asked Questions
Why I can't find the exact manual I want?
Many manuals are available here, but not all manuals for all products. Apple cannot provide copies of manuals that are not already in the archive. Occasionally a manual is revised after it is released. These manuals may or may not reflect those changes. Are these manuals available in other languages?
Some of the other manuals are available in German (D), French (F), Italian (T), Dutch (N), and Japanese (J). If there is a + icon next to a link then that manual is available in another language. What do the filenames mean?
The name of most files contain its Apple part number, an abbreviated name of the product, and abbrevaiation that designates the type of manuals. For example, UG stands for user's guide, TI stands for technical informaiton, and GS designates a Getting Stated manual. Why doesn't the illustrations always look good?
Many of the PDF files were originally produced for internal Apple use only. The reproduction quality may not be as high as the quality of illustrations in printed Apple manuals. We hope you still find these manuals useful. Can I print a manual?
These PDF files are intended for viewing on screen. Depending on your computer and printer, you may experience problems printing these files. How do I view these manuals?
In Mac OS X you can simply download and open PDF files to view them. Or else you have to download Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open and print these manuals. If you see garbled text you should try to save the PDF file onto your hard drive instead of viewing them in your browser.
