Help is ready whenever you need it for fast answers to thousands of your Macintosh questions. You can access help through the Help menu, and some dialogs also provide a Help button for immediate access to relevant information. |
In Help, you'll find great tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your Mac. Discover how to do a variety of tasks, from setting up a network to making your own movies. When you get stuck, Help has solutions to get you working again, fast.
Keeping Help up to date is simple, too. When you're connected to the
Internet, your help pages are updated with the most recent topics available.

Mac Help can answer your questions about using the great features of Mac OS X. Each application has its own collection of help, too. You can even find information about your Mac's hardware, right on your computer. |

You can get help with virtually every application on your Mac by visiting the Help Library. To see the help available for an application, check out the Help menu in th application, or choose a starting point from Help Viewer's Library menu. For even more convenient access to the Help Library, press and hold the Home button in the Help Viewer toolbar. |
Speedy results
You can use Help Viewer to quickly find the topics that are most relevant to what you need to know. Just enter a question, a phrase, or a few words, then press Return. In seconds you'll get a list of topics to choose from.

Click the magnifying glass icon in the search field to change the scope of your search from topics about the current application to all of the topics in your Help Library. |

If you like, you can browse through available help pages to discover a wealth of information. Choose Help from the Help menu, and then click a link on the access page to view lists of topics, find out about new features, get fast answers to common problems, and more. |

Want to know more about a topic? Ask another question, or click "Tell me more" to see a list of related topics. In a hurry to finish a task? Search or browse to find a topic and follow the highlighted steps. |

To save you time and to make sure you're on the right track, some Help topics provide automated helpers at the bottom of the page. Click an "Open it for me" link to go straight to the application you need for a task, or use a "Go to the website" link to visit a related Internet resource.

Mac Help provides several pages with information about great shortcuts (such as special key combinations for the Finder) that can help you work more efficiently. Some applications may provide tutorials, overviews, or links to Hot Tips that can help you get the most out of your software. You may even be able to find information about PDF manuals available on a website or installation CD. |
